1) 임상시험에서, 이 약과 관련된 약물 이상반응의 전반적 발생율은 10% 미만이었다. 중대한 이상반응은 발생하지 않았다. 대부분은 안구에서 경증으로 발생했다. 눈이 타는 듯한 느낌 (대부분 경증)이 자주 발생한 이상반응이었고, 그 밖의 이상반응은 때때로 발생하였다.

① 눈
자주 (1%이상, 10%이하) 타는 듯한 느낌
때때로 (0.1%이상, 1%이하) 알레르기성 결막염, 안검하수, 결막부종, 결막충혈, 눈꼽, 자극감, 가려움, 감수성증가, 눈부심, 시력장애
② 신경계
때때로 (0.1%이상, 1%이하) 두통
③ 호흡기계
때때로 (0.1%이상, 1%이하) 천식, 코자극, 비염
④ 위장관계
때때로 (0.1%이상, 1%이하) 구강건조, 미각변화
⑤ 피부
때때로 (0.1%이상, 1%이하) 소양증(가려움증)
2) 국내 시판 후 조사결과
국내에서 재심사를 위하여 6년 동안 745명의 환자를 대상으로 실시한 시판 후 조사결과 유해사례 발현율은 인과관계와 상관없이 눈통증 0.13%(1/745명, 1건)로 보고되었다.
3) 첨가제 : 이 약은 인산염을 포함하고 있다.
상당한 각막 손상이 있는 일부 환자에서 인산염 함유 점안액의 사용과 연관되어 각막 석회화의 사례가 매우 드물게(0.01% 미만) 보고된 바 있다.

Pharmacology
Epinastine에 대한 Pharmacology 정보 Epinastine is an antihistamine and an inhibitor of histamine release from the mast cell for topical administration to the eyes. Epinastine is indicated for the prevention of itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis. Epinastine is a topically active, direct H1-receptor antagonist and an inhibitor of the release of histamine from the mast cell. Epinastine is selective for the histamine H1-receptor and has affinity for the histamine H2 receptor. Epinastine also possesses affinity for the a1-, a2-, and 5-HT2 -receptors. Epinastine does not penetrate the blood/brain barrier and, therefore, is not expected to induce side effects of the central nervous system.
